Know,
Preserving and
Thrive
The Araguaia River, a destination for more than 200,000 tourists every year, is facing growing challenges to its biodiversity due to overfishing and a lack of environmental awareness. The Piraíba fish is considered to be one of the top animals in the Araguaia basin, and is therefore one of the main targets of sport fishing, as well as overfishing.
Peixara is a direct response to these problems, addressing not only the preservation of the Piraíba, but the conservation of the aquatic fish fauna ecosystem as a whole through conscientious tourism and responsible sport fishing.
Sustainability is at the heart of Peixara
We have developed a holistic approach that transcends the traditional boundaries of environmental preservation.
With a clear strategy of engagement with guides, the local community and Araguaia visitors, we have transformed the project into a comprehensive movement of awareness and action.
More than a fish story
We created illustrations that not only capture the unique beauty of the Araguaia's aquatic life, highlighting the details and characteristics of each species, but also educate and inspire the community. These illustrations serve as a bridge between science and the public, fostering an emotional connection with the local fauna in the present and future.
The illustrative posters capture the essence of the richness of aquatic biodiversity, with their vibrant colors and stylized representations of the species under study, not just as a scientific object, but as an integral part of local life that will guarantee the continuity of the environment and the community's economy in the long term.
